What to Expect
The best way to protect your vision is a yearly comprehensive eye exam. When you arrive at our office, you will be greeted with friendly faces. Each eye exam will use the latest state-of-the-art technology to assess your eye health. We will inspect your eyes, answer questions, and discuss your eye care treatment options. In addition to determining your vision prescription, we may test your color vision, depth perception, and check for any early indicators of possible eye conditions such as cataracts, retinal problems, and glaucoma.
Our goal is to have each patient leave satisfied knowing that they are receiving the best eye care services and products possible.
How often do I need an eye exam?
Annual eye exams are recommended for all ages (even babies), unless your eye health dictates further examination and care. Adults who wear contact lenses should have an annual exam to receive a current contact lens prescription.
Do I still need an eye exam if I have 20/20 vision? Definitely!
Your eyes can change from year to year plus eye exams catch early signs of diseases such as glaucoma or diabetes.
What can I expect at a typical eye exam?
During your exam, we will test your vision, check your eye health, and look for signs of general health problems (vision issues can be an indicator of other health concerns such as diabetes). In addition, we may also put you through a few tests that are designed to catch eye conditions and diseases early, such as cataracts and glaucoma. You will also have time to discuss your prescription with your optometrist and ask any questions you may have about eye health and vision correction solutions.
Why does the doctor ask me, “Which is better: one or two?”
While evaluating your prescription, we will ask you to compare a series of lenses to determine which allows you to see clearer. As the differences become less noticeable, the doctor will be closer to finalizing your prescription. If you’re having a difficult time choosing between the options, it means you’re almost done with this part of the exam!
Why am I asked to follow a light with my eyes?
This part of the exam helps determine how your pupils and eye muscles react and assists in gauging neurological function.
Why is my personal background important?
In order to better tailor the eye examination to your needs, we may review any current vision problems, your general health, as well as discuss your hobbies and lifestyle requirements.
How long will it take me to get my order?
Most prescription frames and lenses take 7-10 business days. Most contact lens orders arrive within 2-3 business days.
How long do I have to return my order?
Frames and lenses all sales are final, the frames can be restyled once at your insurance company’s discretion. For contact lenses you have 90 days from the purchase date to return your boxes, they must be unopened and not damaged or written on.
